SAU BlueChips Perform Well At CIAA Cheerleading Competition On Super Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Saint Augustine's University BlueChips performed before a large crowd during the McDonald's Super Saturday Cheerleading Exhibition at Time Warner Cable Arena on Saturday, February 28, 2015.

The BlueChips were outstanding in executing their routine based off the movie The Purge. Their routine drew a loud applause from the audience.

After the exhibition, the All-CIAA Cheerleading Team was announced. Lauren Lightner-Sharpe (Jr./Raleigh, NC) and Shaia Scott (Sr./Richmond, VA) of the Lady Falcons were honored with the other All-CIAA cheerleaders.

The cheerleading competition was one of many events held on Super Saturday. The other events included a DJ competition and a concert by Hip Hop duo Rae Sremmurd.

The BlueChips have been invited to compete in the HBCU National All-Star Cheerleading and Dance competition in Landover, Md., on Saturday, April 4.

The BlueChips are guided by Head Cheerleading Coach Ann Brown and Cheer Coach Charles Clark. Brown is the President of the CIAA Cheer Coaches Association.
