SAU Wins Two Accusplit Awards For Nation's Best Relay Times

RALEIGH, N.C. (Dec. 14) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced this week that Saint Augustine's University won two Accusplit Relay Awards for running the fastest NCAA Division II times in the women's 4x200 and 4x400 relays this year. The USTFCCCA will recognize Saint Augustine's University at its annual convention next week in San Antonio, Texas.

The same group of Lady Falcons represented the 4x200 and 4x400 teams – All-Americans Leah Barker (Graduate/St. Michaels, Barbados), Amanda Crawford (Jr./Brooklyn, NY), Ade Hunter (Graduate/Philadelphia, PA) and Shannon Kalawan (Jr./Westmoreland, Jamaica), the 2018 USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year. They posted their fastest times at two of the biggest meets of the 2018 season.

The Lady Falcons ran 1:35.68 against Division I schools in the 4x200 relay at the prestigious Penn Relays in April. They finished in 3:36.75 to win the 4x400 national crown at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in May.

The Accusplit Relay Awards are given each year to the fastest men's and women's outdoor relay teams in each division.
