RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 20) – Saint Augustine's University hosts Benedict College in a softball doubleheader at Lions Park on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The first game begins at 12 p.m. followed by the second game at approximately 2 p.m.
The Lady Falcons (1-1 overall) are coming off a home doubleheader split against St. Andrews University on Feb. 15. They won the second game 11-6 after losing the first game 6-3.
Akera McPhaul (Sr./Greensboro, NC) leads the CIAA in batting average (.571) and Marley Parker (Sr./Langley, British Columbia) ranks second (.500) for the Lady Falcons. Makayla August (So./Palm Springs, CA) leads the CIAA in earned run average (3.00) and Haley Sessoms (So./Kenansville, NC) is the conference leader in stolen bases (3).
Benedict enters Wednesday's games with a 5-1 overall record. The Lady Tigers have already beaten Fayetteville State University and Shaw University twice this season. Khayreyah Parrish is batting .579 with three home runs and 13 RBIs for the Lady Tigers.
