SALISBURY, NC (Oct 13) -- Saint Augustine's University (SAU) Womens Cross Country competed in the Livingstone XC Invitational Friday morning and came away victorious. Sophomore
Abijah Jepkemboi paced the Falcons covering the 5,000 meter course in 19:21- nearly a full minute faster than the 2nd place competitor. This was Abijah's 3rd indiviual victory on the season.
Joyce Jepleting(6th),
Taymar Smith(7th),
Ruth Jepkogei(12th) and
Obi Christabelle(15th) rounded out the top five for the Falcons to score 41 points just edging out Winston Salem State with 43 points to capture the team title.
In the Mens race,
Sean Kalawan finished 4th covering the 8,000 meter course in 29:13 with
Isaiah Chapman right behind him in 5th at 29:36.
Isaiah Rozien(10th),
Sean Crumpler(15th), and
Kahneil Budham(19th) rounded out the top five scoring Falcons. The team score total was 53 points enough to capture 2nd place behind Columbia who took the team title with 21.
