RALEIGH, North Carolina --Shaw got a four-yard rushing touchdown from Sydney Gibbs with 8:41 left in the ballgame, as Saint Augustine's lost 21-14 in heartbreaking fashion to the Bears on Saturday afternoon at George Williams Athletic Complex.
The Bears improved to 3-7 on the year and 3-5 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play, while the Falcons fell to 0-10 overall and 0-8 in conference matchups.
Anthony Archie totaled 50 yards to lead the Falcons' ground attack in the game. Avonte George also tacked on 45 yards on the ground, picking up 6.4 yards per carry.
George Jones reeled in three catches for 45 yards.
Josiah Benson led the Saint Augustine's defensive effort, collecting three tackles and one interception.Â
The Falcons won the turnover battle in Saturday's game, forcing one turnover while avoiding any giveways, with Saint Augustine's turning that takeaway into seven points. Saint Augustine's converted on 46.2 percent of third-down attempts on the day.
