Academic Advising for Student-Athletes

Expectations of Student-Athletes
Each student-athlete plays an integral role in the academic pursuit of a degree from Saint Augustine’s University. Student-athletes must take advantage of the services provided through the Academic Advisement and Support Center the University. Student-athletes are expected to:
  • Attend ALL classes,
  • Communicate with professors on a regular basis (especially during travel seasons),
  • Complete ALL assignments in a timely manner, and
  • Uphold standards of academic integrity by complying with all academic policies.

Student-Athlete's Role in Advising and Registration
One of the many important functions of Academic Advisement and Support Center is to advise student-athletes on course selection and to assist in the selection of an academic major. Academic advising requires a partnership between the student-athlete and the advisor to ensure the best decisions are made for the benefit of the student-athlete.
Student-athletes are required to meet with their Athletic Academic Advisor each semester during the advising period. Student-athletes who have declared an academic major are also required to meet with their major advisor.
