Mike Vassil is in his first season as offensive line coach at Saint Augustine's University.
Vassil elevated to the collegiate coaching level after earning a reputation as a respected football coach on the high school level. He previously coached at Knightdale High School, Heritage High School, Northern Vance High School, Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School and Granville Central High School, and has held various titles including offensive coordinator, offensive line coach and special teams coordinator over the past 10 years.
A Raleigh, N.C., native, Vassil graduated from Regis University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications.
Before joining the coaching ranks, Vassil was a collegiate football student-athlete at N.C. State University from 2005 to 2007. On the prep level, Vassil was a standout football student-athlete at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, earning all-conference honors two consecutive years (2004, 2005). He received the Scholar Athlete Award for performance on the football field, academic achievement and school leadership in 2005.
