Julius Wells

Julius Wells enters his sixth season in his second stint as golf coach at Saint Augustine's University. He also coached the Falcons from 2009 to 2013.

Wells has turned the Falcons into title contenders during his second tenure. In Wells' first season back, the Falcons collected the third-place trophy at the 2018 CIAA Men's Golf Championship Tournament after placing last the previous three years.

For his efforts in turning the program around, Wells was named CIAA Men's Golf Coach of the Year in 2018. His golfer Samuel Cudjoe was the conference's Golfer of the Year and Rookie Golfer of the Year. Cudjoe qualified for the NCAA Atlantic/East Golf Regional that year.

Wells has coached two All-CIAA golfers in Cudjoe and Tanner Duncan during his second tenure as head coach. 

A Bridgeport, Conn., native, Wells was a standout golfer at SAU where he graduated in 2009 with a Human Performance and Wellness degree. He placed among the top 15 golfers two consecutive years at the CIAA Golf Championships.


Wells once made a hole-in-one at the Navy Fall Invitational Tournament, which was held Sept. 2008.
