RALEIGH, N.C. – Lake Erie College amassed 15 hits including three home runs in an 11-2 non-conference baseball win over host Saint Augustine's College Saturday at Green Road Park. The loss snapped the Falcons' eight-game win streak. The Falcons are 9-3 overall.
Three pitchers combined on a four-hitter to gain the win for the Storm (3-3 overall). Pat Mulligan of the Storm allowed three hits in 5.2 innings for the win. Kevin White (Jr./Dunn, N.C.) of the Falcons gave up eight hits in five innings for the loss.
The Storm scored four runs each in the second and seventh innings to pull away for the victory. The Falcons scored on an RBI double from Tshombe Johnson (Jr./Nassau, Bahamas) in the fifth inning and an RBI single from Russbert Eugenio (Fr./Bronx, NY) in the sixth inning.
The Falcons return to CIAA action Sunday when they visit Elizabeth City State University in a doubleheader. The first game starts at 1 p.m. and the second game follows at 3 p.m. The game will be held at Pasquotank High School.
