In 1984, he directed the Falcons to the NAIA District 26 championship and a regional berth in Bluefield, W.Va., where they placed third.
That same season, White was the assistant coach on the men's basketball team that finished as NCAA Division II national runner-up. He also was the head women's basketball coach at Saint Augustine's from 1998 to 2001 and later spent five seasons as head baseball coach at North Carolina Central University from 2006 to 2011.
Saint Augustine's University recognized White's accomplishments by inducting him into the school's Falcon Foundation Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.
