CARY, N.C. – Coker College amassed 12 hits to defeat Saint Augustine's College 16-1 Monday night at USA Baseball Complex in the Falcons' last home baseball game of the season.
The Falcons (29-15 overall) can clinch the CIAA regular-season title with a victory over Virginia State Tuesday in a doubleheader at Petersburg, Va., starting at 1 p.m. The Falcons are the defending league regular-season champions.
The Cobras (22-19 overall), led by five RBIs on 3-for-5 hitting by Daniel Hiatt, scored 14 runs in the first three innings. Trey Lynch added four RBIs on 2-for-4 hitting for the Cobras.
Three pitchers combined on a three-hitter for the Cobras with Michael Rogers getting the win. David Henderson collected a hit and scored the only run for the Falcons. Josh Bishop and Rashad Ingram had the Falcons' other hits.
