ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - Senior right fielder Mike Wallace (Powhatan, Va.) paced Saint Augustine's College to two CIAA baseball victories over Elizabeth City State Saturday at Holmes Field. The Falcons won 6-4 in the first game and 8-1 in the second game to stay atop the conference standings at 12-0.

Wallace was 4-for-8 with 5 RBIs including four RBIs in the second game where he homered and doubled. His two-run homer was part of a six-run fifth inning which propelled the Falcons (15-7) to a 6-1 lead. He added a two-run double in the seventh inning for the final margin.

Senior catcher Josh Bishop (Richmond, Va.) added three RBIs for the Falcons. Seniors Rashad Ingram (Savannah, Va.) and Chris Vette (Hampton, Va.) both scored two runs each and Vette added an RBI. 
 
Sophomore pitcher Alex Di Dio (Newport News, Va.) scattered seven hits in seven innings. He recorded eight strikeouts and one walk. The Falcons scored eight runs on five hits.

The first game was much closer with the outcome decided in the latter innings. Senior outfielder Wayne Lewis (Charlotte, N.C.) homered to spark the Falcons to a 6-2 lead in the seventh inning, but the Vikings scored two runs in the inning to cut the lead to two. With two outs and two men on base, David Nelson (Richton, Ill.) recorded a strikeout for the final out.

Lewis drove in two runs for the first game. Wallace was 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI while Ingram scored two runs and had one stolen base. Nelson was the winning pitcher after allowing eight hits, six strikeouts and three walks in seven innings.The Falcons had eight hits in the first game.
