Falcons Lose Baseball Doubleheader to Claflin

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Saint Augustine's College lost both games of a baseball doubleheader to Claflin University on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. The final scores were 5-3 in the first game and 4-1 in the second game.

The Falcons led 2-1 in the opener on an RBI double by Daveed Todd (Jr./Chicago, Ill.) and an RBI sacrifice fly by Calvin Butcher (Soph./New Castle, Del.). Claflin pushed four runs across the plate in the fifth inning to claim the lead for good. The Falcons added a run in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Luis Perez (Fr./Hampton, Va.). Ben Hatchell (Soph./Matthews, N.C.) scored the Falcons' only run in the second game on a one-run single.

The losses dropped the Falcons' overall record to 7-18. They visit Paine College on Wednesday in Augusta, Ga., starting at 1 p.m.
