RALEIGH, N.C. –
Daveed Todd (Jr./Chicago, Ill.) hit his second home run in two days for Saint Augustine's College, but the Falcons lost to Chowan University 9-5 in a CIAA baseball contest Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Buffaloe Road Park.
The home run was the third this season and the second against the Hawks over the weekend for Todd, who is tied for the team lead. His two-run shot over the right centerfield fence was part of a four-run fifth inning which gave the Falcons a 5-0 lead.
The Hawks (22-20 overall, 13-4 CIAA) rallied in the latter innings for their third win in two days over the Falcons. The Hawks scored two runs in the sixth inning, and a grand slam homer by Ryan Moore in the seventh inning put the Hawks ahead 6-5. They added three runs in the eighth inning for the victory.
Despite the defeat, the Falcons (14-29 overall, 7-8 CIAA) would qualify for the four-team CIAA Tournament if the season ended today. They would be the No. 4 seed.
Todd drove in a team-high two runs for the Falcons, who pounded out 14 hits.
Ariel Polanco (Jr./Harlem, N.Y.) and
Wayne Lewis (Sr./Charlotte, N.C.) both added an RBI.

The Falcons led for the first time in the weekend series in the second inning.
Jeremy Wilkins (Jr./Smithfield, N.C.) stole home for a 1-0 score. The Falcons added four runs in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Lewis, an RBI double by Polanco and Todd's two-run homer.
