Calvin Butcher (New Castle, DE) was 4-for-6 at the plate with three RBIs to lead Saint Augustine's University to an 8-6 baseball victory over William Peace University at USA Baseball National Training Complex on Thursday, February 20, 2014. This was the first-ever meeting between the two Raleigh schools.
The Falcons handed William Peace its first loss in five games in its inaugural season. The Falcons improved to 3-7 overall.

Butcher knocked in two of the Falcons' four runs in the top of the seventh inning for an 8-5 lead. Winning pitcher
Clarence Peace (Creedmoor, NC) and
Bryan Rivera (Cida, Puerto Rico) combined to allow only run in the final three innings for the Falcons.
Peace of the Falcons had two RBIs on two hits and two runs scored while third baseman
Carey Cheek (Baltimore, MD), was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. The Falcons had a season-high 12 hits. Shortstop Trevor Nanney and right fielder Christian Neal both registered two RBIs for William Peace, which had eight hits.
The Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when sophomore right fielder
Jason Baytop (Manchester, MD) singled in Butcher. The score climbed to 2-0 in the top of the second when Cheek scored on a Butcher single.
The Pacers scored three runs in the third inning to go ahead 3-2. The Falcons regained the lead 4-3 in the top of the fifth inning when Baytop scored on Peace's single and Peace scored on a double by sophomore first baseman
William Thomas (Yorktown, VA). The Pacers tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning and led again 5-4 in the sixth inning.
The Falcons exploded with four runs in the seventh inning. Peace doubled in Baytop and Peace later scored on a sacrifice RBI by freshman catcher
Corey Fields (Upper Marlboro, MD). Butcher added his two-RBI double which scored Cheek and Fields for a three-run lead.
Peace of the Falcons limited the Pacers to two hits and no runs in three innings for the win. He entered the game as a relief pitcher in the sixth inning. Rivera earned the save after pitching the ninth inning.
The Falcons host West Liberty University in a three-game non-conference weekend series at USA Baseball National Training Complex. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, February 22 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. They meet again Sunday, February 23 for a single game at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
