CARY, N.C. - Saint Augustine's University will host Bluefield State College in a three-game baseball series at USA Baseball Complex this weekend. This is first home appearance for the Falcons this season.
Both teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, February 8, 2014, with the first game starting at 1 p.m. followed by the second contest at 3 p.m. The series concludes Sunday, February 9, with a 3 p.m. contest.
The Falcons are led by sophomore left fielder
Jason Baytop (Manchester, MD), the 2013 CIAA Rookie of the Year who leads the team with a .667 batting average. Baytop smacked a team-high six hits on nine at-bats in a three-game series versus Wingate University last weekend. Senior second baseman
Calvin Butcher (New Castle, DE) leads the Falcons with three RBIs, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Butcher hit a three-run home run in the first game against Wingate.

Jamie Scott (Hampton, VA) and sophomore third baseman
Carey Cheek (Baltimore, MD) are tied for second on the Falcons with two RBIs each. Sophomore first baseman
William Thomas (Yorktown, PA) and sophomore shortstop
Jordan Wright (Hampton, VA) are tied for second on the team with two runs scored each.
The Falcons (0-3 overall) will be looking for their first win this season. The Blues lost their season opener to Guilford College 11-0.
