St. Aug Set For Baseball Senior Day This Weekend Against Chowan

CARY, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University will hold Senior Day during its four-game baseball series against Chowan University at USA Baseball National Training Complex this weekend. A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, with a 1 p.m. start both days. Admission is free.

WAUG-Radio will broadcast Saturday's doubleheader on the 750 AM dial.

Nine seniors will be honored during a ceremony between the first and second game of Saturday's doubleheader. They are Darren Burks (Matteson, IL), Calvin Butcher (New Castle, DE), Joshua Easter (Chicago, IL), Alex Edwards (Chicago, IL), Darien Hardaway (Atlanta, GA), Brock Holmes (Brunswick, NC), Jamie Scott (Hampton, VA), Clarence Peace (Creedmoor, NC) and Darryl Washington-Hardy (River Grove, IL).

The Falcons are led on offense by Scott, Hardaway, Peace and William Thomas (Soph./Yorktown, VA), the CIAA Baseball Player of the Week. All four players are batting over .300 with Scott leading the way at .378, which ranks third in the CIAA. Scott is also fifth in the league in stolen bases (13).

Butcher is second in the CIAA in steals (22) and 10th in Division II in stolen bases and stolen bases per game. Bryan Rivera (Jr./Puerto Rico) ranks fourth in the conference in earned run average and third in strikeouts (45).

The Falcons are fourth in the CIAA standings at 5-7, and their overall record is 13-21. Chowan is tied for first at 12-4 and is 13-20 overall.
