Falcons Visit Pfeiffer In Four-Game Baseball Series This Weekend (Feb. 14-15)

Saint Augustine's University ventures to Misenheimer, N.C., this weekend for a four-game baseball series against Pfeiffer University.

Both teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, February 14, and Sunday, February 15, 2015. The starting times are 12 p.m. for the first game and approximately 2 p.m. for the second game. The doubleheaders against Pfeiffer are part of a challenging non-conference schedule for the Falcons (1-4 overall) as they prepare for CIAA play starting in March 2015. Pfeiffer (3-5 overall) is a member of the highly regarded Conference Carolinas.

The Falcons are led by Preseason All-CIAA selections Jason Baytop (Jr./Manchester, MD) and Bryan Rivera (Sr./Cidra, Puerto Rico). Baytop, a centerfielder, leads the Falcons in batting average (.455), hits (10), doubles (3), stolen bases (5) and runs scored (6). Rivera, a Preseason All-Region pitcher, has 14 strikeouts in 10.1 innings of work.

Leftfielder Darrell Langston (Fr./Chicago, IL) is second on the team in batting average (.400) and first in slugging percentage (.667). Second baseman/designated hitter Timothy Carter (So./Lumberton, NC) is the Falcons' leader in RBIs (5) and home runs (1).

For Pfeiffer, Zac Chilton bats .429 and Izzy Perez bats .400. Ethan Greene has a 3.00 earned run average and 13 strikeouts in 12 innings of pitching.
