Langston Has Big Day At Plate For Falcons In Baseball Loss To Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Darrell Langston (Soph./Chicago, IL) of Saint Augustine's University batted 3-for-3 with one RBI in a 15-2 non-conference baseball loss to Coker College at Tom J. New Field on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016.

Langston drove in a run in the fifth inning when his single scored Johnathan Sierra. The Falcons also scored in the first inning for a 1-0 lead when Ricardo Martin (Sr./Raleigh, NC) crossed home plate on an infield error.

Carey Cheek (Sr./Baltimore, MD) was 2-for-2 at the plate and Sierra recorded two stolen bases for the Falcons. Langston also had a stolen base.

Darius Coldi was 4-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Coker (7-2 overall). Miguel Frias had four RBIs and scored three runs.

The Falcons (0-5 overall) return to action this weekend when they host Pfeiffer University in a four-game series in Cary, N.C., this weekend. A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 13, and Sunday, Feb. 14, at the USA Baseball National Training Complex with starting times at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. both days.
