Falcons Visit Barton In Baseball Tuesday, Feb. 23

The Falcons are coming off a four-game weekend series against West Liberty University in Raleigh, N.C. They defeated the Hilltoppers 3-2 on Sunday, Feb. 21, for their first win of the season.

Carey Cheek (Sr./Baltimore, MD) is off to a strong start this season, leading the CIAA with a .500 batting average. He is also tied for the conference lead in stolen bases (3) with teammate Johnathan Sierra. Alexis Garcia (Jr./ Maracaibo, Venezuela) ranks fifth in the conference with a .350 batting average for the Falcons (1-8 overall).

Marquis Johnson (Jr./Richmond, VA) of the Falcons leads the CIAA with a 1.93 earned run average after picking up the pitching win against West Liberty Sunday. Tim Carter (Jr./Lumberton, NC) ranks third with a 2.77 ERA.

Barton (7-1 overall) is led by Ben Williams, who bats .400. He shares the team RBI lead (8) with Andrew Webster. Kerry Walker is the Bulldogs' top pitcher with a 2-0 record and a 0.66 ERA.
