Michael Keels Records Two RBIs For The Falcons

RALEIGH, NC (Feb 22) – On Tuesday, Feb. 21, Michael Keels (R-Sr./Manning, SC) drove in two runs for Saint Augustine's University in a 15-7 baseball loss to the University of Mount Olive at Scarborough Field in Mount Olive, N.C.

Keels' single to right center field scored Tyquan Bryant (So./Henderson, NC) and Ruben Pinero (R-Jr./Bronx, NY) in the seventh inning. His hit was the offensive highlight of the day for the Falcons.

Both RBIs were part of a six-run seventh inning by the Falcons. Collin Pippin (Fr./Garner, NC) scored Carson Davis (So./Oakboro, NC) on an RBI groundout and Johnathan Sierra (So./Raleigh, NC) scored Keels on a single. Corey Brassington (Sr./Raleigh, NC) and Sierra advanced home on an outfield throwing error.

The Falcons (5-8 overall) scored their first run in the fourth inning when Garcia knocked in Brassington on a groundout. His RBI cut the Falcons deficit to 5-1.

The Trojans (7-3 overall) broke the game open in the middle innings. They scored four runs in the fourth and sixth innings and two runs in the fifth.

Sierra was 2-for-4 at the plate with one RBI and one run scored, and Brassington scored twice for the Falcons. Zach Mozingo was 3-for-4 with five RBIs and three runs scored for the Trojans.

The Falcons are back in action Wednesday, Feb. 22 against neighboring school William Peace University at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. The first pitch is 3 p.m.
