Doubleheaders Scheduled For Saturday And Sunday At USA Baseball National Training Complex In Cary, N.C.
RALEIGH, NC (Feb 3) – On Saturday, Feb. 4, Saint Augustine's University will make its home baseball debut against the University of Virginia's College at Wise in a four-game series this weekend at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. Admission is free to the games, which start at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 and Sunday, Feb. 5.
The Falcons (0-2 overall) looked solid in their season opener Wednesday against Barton College, which was coming off a 31-win campaign last year. Michael Keels (R-Sr./Manning, SC) and Johnathan Sierra (So./Raleigh, NC) each collected three RBIs, and Tyquan Bryant (So./Henderson, NC) and Carson Davis (So./Oakboro, NC) both scored two runs in the doubleheader. Hector Pichardo (So./Dominican Republic) allowed one run in four innings against Barton in the second game.
Keels and Davis lead the Falcons with .333 batting averages and two hits apiece entering Saturday.
Virginia-Wise (0-0) enters its second season as a NCAA Division II baseball program. This weekend begins a stretch of 18 consecutive away games for the Cavaliers.
