RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 8) – Saint Augustine's University has scheduled a baseball doubleheader against Bluefield State College at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., on Friday, Feb. 9, beginning at 1 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Falcons were originally set to host West Liberty University in a four-game series this weekend starting Saturday, Feb. 10, but the games were postponed due to predicted inclement weather. Both teams will face each other in a doubleheader in Cary, N.C., on Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. and approximately 3:30 p.m.
Heading into Friday, the Falcons are 2-1 overall after winning two of three games against the University of Virginia-Wise last weekend. Carson Davis (Jr./Oakboro, NC) leads the Falcons with four hits and five RBIs for a .444 batting average. Alton Brown (So./Durham, NC) and Hector Pichardo (Jr./Dominican Republic) are both batting .600 with Brown totaling two RBIs.
Led by Marquis Johnson (Sr./Richmond, VA), the Falcons own a 2.35 earned run average. Johnson has not allowed a run and is tied with Amilcar Yanez (So./Venezuela) for the team lead with seven strikeouts.
