RALEIGH, N.C. (March 14) – Saint Augustine's University will conclude the home portion of its baseball schedule with a pair of doubleheaders against Bluefield State College this weekend. Admission is free and open to the public.
The twinbills are set for Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17, at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. The first doubleheader starts Friday at 12 p.m. and the second doubleheader begins Saturday at 1 p.m. Both games were moved up one day due to expected inclement weather on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, three Falcons will be recognized on Senior Day between games. They are pitcher Marquis Johnson (Richmond, VA), utility player Hector Pichardo (Dominican Republic) and first baseman Ruben Pinero (Bronx, NY).
The Falcons (8-13 overall) and Big Blues (4-6 overall) met earlier in the season with the Falcons winning 1-0 and 10-9 in Cary, N.C., on Feb. 9. After this weekend, they face each other again in doubleheaders on March 31 and April 1 in Bluefield, W.Va.
