Bly Scores Twice In SAU Baseball Loss To William Peace

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 28) – Brandon Bly (R-Jr./New Castle, DE) scored two runs and Jamal Keels (Jr./Manning, SC) drove in a run for Saint Augustine's University in an 8-3 baseball loss to William Peace University at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., on Tuesday, March 27.

Bly scored from third base in the first inning for a 1-0 lead when Peace picked off a Falcons' runner at second base. He stole base twice to reach third before scoring on the pickoff.

The Falcons' shortstop scored one of two Falcons' runs in the seventh inning. He singled in the right center field gap and stole second base before reaching home on Keels' single. Nick Roets (Fr./Charlotte, NC) scored from third when the Pacers' unsuccessfully attempted to catch Bly stealing second.

Hector Pichardo (Jr./Dominican Republic) and Carson Davis (Jr./Oakboro, NC) were both 2-for-3 at the plate and Roets hit a double for the Falcons (10-17 overall), who had 10 hits. Jake Norris was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored for the Pacers (12-14 overall), who totaled 11 hits.

The Falcons visit Bluefield State College in a four-game series this weekend with the first game starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1. Both teams have played each other six times in Cary, N.C., this season.
