Box Score 2 RALEIGH, N.C. (April 2) – Saint Augustine's University scored a run in the final inning to beat Bluefield State College 8-7 in the second game of a baseball doubleheader in Mount Airy, N.C., on Saturday, March 31.
The Falcons led by scores of 5-1 and 7-3 but the Big Blues scored four runs in the fifth inning to knot the game at 7-7. SAU broke the tie in the top of the seventh inning for the victory.
Hector Pichardo (Jr./Dominican Republic) gained the pitching win in relief for the Falcons, who collected 10 hits while the Big Blues (10-11 overall) had eight hits.
The Falcons, who lost the first game 15-4, are 11-18 overall. They defeated the Big Blues five out of eight games this season.
On Tuesday, April 3, the Falcons visit the University of North Carolina-Pembroke in a twinbill at Sammy Cox Field in Pembroke, N.C. Game times are 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
