RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 14) – Saint Augustine's University dropped a three-set volleyball match to crosstown rival Shaw University at Spaulding Gymnasium on Thursday.
Deandra Small (Fr./St. Philip, Barbados) led the Lady Falcons with seven kills, six digs and one block. Malique Webb (So./St. Catherine, Jamaica) tallied 11 assists, Jordan Rozier (Jr./Raeford, NC) had two aces and Tia Jones (So./Bridgetown, Barbados) finished with two blocks and one ace.
Tyler Hunter paced Shaw (10-2 Southern Division, 15-2 CIAA, 15-9 overall) with 11 kills and Amari Fletcher added nine kills. Jada Flowers registered 32 assists, four digs and two aces for the Lady Bears, who won 25-10, 25-12, 25-19.
The Lady Falcons (0-11 Southern Division, 0-16 CIAA, 0-16 overall) close out the season at home against Claflin University on Friday, Nov. 15. The match starts at 6 p.m. inside Emery Gymnasium. Leading hitter Brittany Jamison (Sr./Charleston, SC) will be honored on Senior Night before the match.
