SAU Volleyball Falls To Shaw At Home

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 7) - Saint Augustine's University fell 3-0 to crosstown rival Shaw University in a CIAA Southern Division women's volleyball match at Emery Gymnasium on Thursday.

Brittany Jamison (Sr./Charleston, SC) registered six kills, six digs and two blocking assists for the Lady Falcons, who played their best volleyball in a four-point third-set loss. Deandra Small (Fr./St. Philip, Barbados) also had six kills and Chandra Mackey (Jr./Nassau, Bahamas) tallied 12 assists. Janina Mayers (So./Christ Church, Barbados) finished with seven digs.

Jailynn Butler and Tyler Hunter both collected 10 kills for the Lady Bears, who won 25-13, 25-8, 25-21. Jada Flowers amassed 31 assists as Shaw improved to 9-1 in the Southern Division, 14-1 in the CIAA and 14-8 overall.

The Lady Falcons (0-9 Southern Division, 0-14 CIAA, 0-14 overall) are back in action at home on Monday, Nov. 11, against Livingstone College. First serve is 6 p.m. at Emery Gymnasium.
