RALEIGH, N.C. (Dec. 6) – Jalen Gaddy (Sr./Raleigh, NC) scored 17 points and Rashad George (Jr./Raleigh, NC) added 12 points for Saint Augustine's University in a 72-64 men's basketball loss to Bowie State University at Emery Gymnasium on Thursday, Dec. 5. The contest was a non-conference matchup between two CIAA teams.

Marquie Clemonts (Jr./Weldon, NC) added 11 points for the Falcons (2-2 overall), who held a 37-33 halftime lead. Donte Edwards (So./Durham, NC) registered eight points.

David Belle scored 25 points for the Bulldogs (4-5 overall), who outscored the Falcons 39-27 in the second half. The Bulldogs shot 50 percent in the final stanza while the Falcons shot 39.1 percent.

The Falcons held a 31-26 rebounding edge over the Bulldogs, ranked second nationally in offensive rebounds per game. They outscored the visitors 24-6 in second chance points.

But the Bulldogs outscored the Falcons 19-11 in turnover points including 13-4 in the second half. Bowie State also held a 36-20 edge in points in the paint.

The Falcons travel to Atlanta, Ga., this weekend for the Morehouse Classic. They take on Morehouse College on Saturday, Dec. 7, and LeMoyne-Owen College on Sunday, Dec. 8. Both games begin at 2 p.m.
