SAU Softball Drops Two To USC Aiken In Season-Opening Doubleheader

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 12) – Saint Augustine's University fell 13-0 and 16-1 to the University of South Carolina Aiken in the softball season-opening doubleheader for the Lady Falcons at Lions Park on Tuesday.
 
Haley Sessoms (Jr./Kenansville, NC) scored the Lady Falcons' only run in the second game. She reached base on a triple and scored on a passed ball in the first inning.
 
Makayla August (Jr./Palm Springs, CA) tripled in the fourth inning for the Lady Falcons in the second game. Both Sessoms and August were 1-for-2 at the plate in the contest.
 
Hannah Price was 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored in the first game for the Pacers (13-9 overall). Price and Sydney Burk were both 2-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored in the second game.
 
The Lady Falcons (0-2) begin conference play this weekend in the CIAA Round-Up. They face six Northern Division teams in Elizabeth City, N.C., on March 15-17. On Friday, they take on Chowan University at 3:45 p.m. and Elizabeth City State University at 6 p.m.
