SALISBURY, N.C. (Oct. 9) - Keasean Williams (Fr./Clinton, NC) caught five passes for 112 yards and a score for Saint Augustine's University (SAU) in a 21-7 CIAA Southern Division football loss to Livingstone at Alumni Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Williams turned a short pass from Donovan Brewington (R-Fr./Hope Mills, NC) into a 25-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. Chase Kiefer (Fr./Jacksonville, NC) booted the extra point.
Brewington completed 12 of 22 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown off the bench for the Falcons, who outscored the Blue Bears in the final three quarters.
The Falcons fell behind 21-0 in the first quarter. The Blue Bears converted two SAU fumbles into 14 points and returned a punt for a score on three straight possessions.
SAU settled down in the second quarter and held the Blue Bears scoreless but could not overcome the first-quarter deficit.
Linebackers Lee Sales (Fr./Winston-Salem, NC) and Joseph Harris (Jr./Jacksonville, FL) sparked a Falcons defense that held the Blue Bears to 253 yards. Sales had a game-high 10 tackles including two tackles for loss and Harris finished with nine tackles including one tackle for loss. Harris also forced a fumble.
Tecorey Tutson scored a rushing and receiving touchdown for the Blue Bears (1-2 CIAA, 1-5 overall). He gained 110 total yards including 76 on the ground.
The Falcons (0-3 CIAA, 0-4 overall) end its three-game road stretch against Winston-Salem State on Saturday, Oct. 16. Kickoff is 1:30 p.m.
