Dyson Scores Season-High 30 In SAU Men's Basketball Loss To ECSU

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (Dec. 18) – Dhashon Dyson (So./Chicago) nearly led Saint Augustine's University to a second-half comeback in a 56-46 CIAA men's basketball loss to Elizabeth City State at the R.L. Vaughn Center on Saturday.
 
Dyson scored 26 of his season-high 30 points in the second half as the Falcons chipped away at a 27-13 halftime deficit. The Falcons were down 20 points early in the second half before Dyson heated up. He scored the Falcons' next 16 points to get them within 37-31.
 
The Vikings pushed their lead to 15 points, but Dyson led one final SAU charge. His three-pointer got the Falcons with 47-41 with four minutes left.
 
Jaylen Richard (Jr./Durham, NC) nailed a three-pointer to bring the Falcons within 51-46, but the Vikings scored the final five points for the win.
 
Jayden Beloti scored 17 points for the Vikings (2-0 CIAA, 7-3 overall).
 
The Falcons (1-1 CIAA, 3-9 overall) return to action after the holiday break to host Bowie State on Jan. 6, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. The contest is the first of five straight at home for SAU.
