BOWIE, MD (Oct. 11) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) placed first in the women's 5K race at the Bowie State Cross Country Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Jericho Park in Bowie, MD. 

SAU won the women's race with 24 points followed by Lincoln (PA) with 32 points. 

Individually, Joyce Jepleting (So./Kapsabet, Kenya) of SAU was first with a time of 21:06.70. Ruth Jepkogei (So./Eldoret, Kenya) of SAU finished second with a time of 21:35.60. Destiny Lewis of Bowie State finished third with a time of 21:35.80 and Taymar Smith (Fr./Greenville, SC) was fourth with a time of 21:37.50 for the Lady Falcons.
