SAU Softball Concludes CIAA Roundup With Losses Against Conference Foes

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 27) – After playing two games on Friday, the Saint Augustine's University softball team concluded the CIAA Roundup with four games in two days at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex.

On Saturday, March 26, the Lady Falcons lost 5-2 to Lincoln (Pa.) and 15-5 to crosstown rival Shaw. On Sunday, SAU fell 21-4 to Bowie State and 10-2 to Elizabeth City State.

Gia Minnis (Grad./Nassau, Bahamas) drove in both SAU runs against Lincoln (Pa.) with a single. Rashonda Hart (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas), Shaquelle Bain (Sr./Nassau, Bahamas), Victoria De La Cruz (Jr./Whittier, CA), Yasmine Thompson (Sr./Charlotte, NC) and Minnis each collected an RBI against Shaw.

Victoria Spoon (Jr./Holland Patent, NY) and Madison Poston (So./Florence, SC) each posted RBIs against Bowie State. Laurel Rolle (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) and Deanta' Colebrooke (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) each smacked in a run against Elizabeth City State.

The Lady Falcons (0-6 CIAA, 0-16 overall) are back on the field Saturday, April 2, against Claflin at Oakwood Park. Game times are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
