Bowie, MD. – The Saint Augustine's men's basketball team displayed toughness and grit to take down the Bowie State Bulldogs on the road 73-64. The Falcons controlled the contest for much of the first half. With the score tied 26-26, the Falcons went on a 10-0 run to go up 36-26. The Bulldogs were able to stave off the Falcons run and went on a 7-0 run of their own, and eventually cut the lead to 39-33 heading into the half. The story of the second half was the lights out shooting of Moses Mupungo. In the second half, Mupungo shot 4-5 from 3, including a clutch 3-pointer with 1:24 remaining to put the Falcons up two. After two made free throws by Warren Mouganda, the teams headed into overtime.
The Falcons poured on the defense in overtime holding the Bulldogs to one point. Christopher Hill led the way with 7 big points as the Falcons outscored the Bulldogs 10-1 to secure their first road win of the season.
The Falcons were led by Moses Mupungo with 21 points, including 6-7 from 3, Chris Hill had a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists, Nemo Johnson also had a double-double with 13 points and 11rebounds, and Chance Jamison finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
