RALEIGH, NC --The Saint Augustine's volleyball team needed only three sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-18) to knock off the Fayetteville State Broncos Thursday at home at Emery Gymnasium.
The victory boosted the Falcons' record to 9-10 overall and 9-4 in CIAA action. This also snaps a 24 match losing streak to the Broncos and vaults the Falcon's into the 2 seed for the Southern Division.
La'Tavia Braynen finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Falcons offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .292. The Falcons also got 20 digs from Nayara Pereira to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Falcons opened up an early one set to none lead, winning the first set 25-20. Saint Augustine's never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 in a set that featured eight ties and seven lead changes.
SET 2 | Saint Augustine's built on a set-one win by securing a 25-18 victory in set two. The Falcons scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Saint Augustine's opened up as much as an eight point lead at 20-12 before closing out the set. The Saint Augustine's offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Saint Augustine's then finished off the match with a victory in set number three. The Falcons won the set 25-18 thanks to a strong showing on the attacking end. Saint Augustine's put together a .444 attack percentage with 14 kills in the set win. The Falcons ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.
