RALEIGH, NC --The Saint Augustine's men's basketball team had 10 fewer turnovers than Chowan, but fell 76-66 to the Hawks at home Tuesday.
The Falcons (3-3) had four players score in double figures, led by Jordan Love, who had 13 points and three steals. MacNasa Hughes added 12 points and Nemo Johnson helped out with 12 points and two blocks.
The Saint Augustine's defense was effective at taking away the basketball in Tuesday's game, forcing 22 Chowan turnovers while committing 12. Those takeaways turned into 24 points on the offensive end of the floor. Love's three steals led the way individually for the Falcons.
How It Happened
Saint Augustine's struggled out of the gate, falling behind 41-29 heading into halftime.
Chowan kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 61-43 advantage before Saint Augustine's went on a 5-0 run to shrink the deficit to 61-48 with 7:45 to go in the contest. The Falcons kept their comeback going, but Chowan managed to hold on for the 76-66 win. Saint Augustine's took care of business in the paint, recording 24 of its 37 points in the lane.
