Clemson, SC -- Saint Augustine's University track & field program traveled to Clemson University on Friday to take part in the Clemson Opener against some strong field including many Division I schools including the 2022 NCAA DI Runner Up - NC A&T. The Falcons put up some strong marks all day - including several CIAA #1 performances - but the day was perhaps highlighted by
Kailen Perry (Raleigh, NC, Garner HS) who bested the 400m field in a new personal best 48.02 which exceeded the NCAA DII Qualifying standard in this event. He currently has the 3rd fastest qualifying mark in all of DII track and field performances on the season.

- Amarion Harrell (Chesapeake, VA, Deep Creek HS) finished 2nd in the 400m behind Perry in a 48.94 just missing the NCAA qualifying mark of 48.52.
- Isaiah Chapman (Raleigh, NC, Southeast Raleigh HS) placed 4th overall (1st among DII runners) in the 800m in a 1:56.71
- Ha'Mir Hampton (Mebane, NC, Hillside HS) placed 7th overall (1st among DII runners) in the 600m in 1:22.77
- Kahlil West (Roanoke, VA, William Fleming HS) placed tied for 5th (1st among DII) in the high jump with a 1.95m mark
- Isaiah Sharpe (Mount Olive, NC, Southern Wayne HS) placed 10th overall (1st among DII) in the shot put with a 12.85m mark
- Asheika Smith (St. Elizabeth, JAM, Universal School) posted new CIAA #1 times in both the 200m (24.85) and 400m (57.44)
- Taymar Smith (Greenville, SC, Greer Middle College) placed 5th overall (1st among DII runners) in the 800m with a 2:26
- Lanyjah Gunter (Wendell, NC, Knightdale HS) placed 8th overall (1st among DII) in the triple jump with a CIAA #2 11.40m mark
- Kyrasani Mitchell (San Diego, CA, San Diego HS) placed 5th overall (1st among DII) in the shot put with a CIAA #1 11.52m mark
