Raleigh, NC. – The Saint Augustine's men's basketball team extended its win streak to three after defeating Livingstone College on Senior Night. In front of a raucous crowd, the Falcons displayed immense energy, passion, and a bevy of high-flying dunks to end the Blue Bears' two-game winning streak. The Falcons had quite the paradoxical game with efficient field goal shooting (55.8%) but struggled mightily from the free throw line going 10-23 from the line (43.5%). Despite this, the Falcons again were able to ward off another comeback and shut the door on the Blue Bears to secure the victory.
The Falcons were led by Jaylen Richard with 21 points, Chance Jamison with 17 points, Nemo Johnson with 13 points, and George Jones with 11.
Head Coach Chucky Brown's Post game Comments
"I thought it was a great effort. We played Livingstone down there and they're a very hard-playing group. They're physical, they play hard, so when we played them there, we didn't match their intensity, so we had to step our game up here and make them match our intensity. We took it to them for a while and they showed what type of team they are. They got a lot of grit, a lot of fight -- we had a double-digit lead and they fought back, and they made it a game. We did a good job of holding on to the lead and just fighting through some tough times because they put us through some tough situations, so it was a great win for us."
