Andre McCollum is in his third season as assistant men's basketball coach at Saint Augustine's University. He is responsible for the guards and is the team’s academic coordinator.

A Durham, N.C., native, McCollum is an up-and-coming coach, trainer and mentor in the Triangle area, which covers Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, N.C. He’s earned praise for teaching basketball and life lessons to young players, many of them at-risk kids. McCollum has coached at several local schools including Southern Durham High School and Faith Assembly Christian Academy. He is a former head coach of the Bull City Legacy which is a former member of the Tobacco Road Basketball League (TRBL).
 
McCollum was a basketball standout in high school and college before entering the coaching ranks. He was a teammate of former Wake Forest and NBA star Rodney Rogers at Durham Hillside High School and played collegiately at Anderson (S.C.) College and California State University of Bakersfield.

After college, McCollum played in several pro leagues including the NBA Developmental League. He played overseas in Turkey, Israel, Venezuela and Italy.
 
McCollum attended several NBA camps including the New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks. He was a member of the famed Harlem Globetrotters before entering the coaching profession.
