SAU Volleyball Falls To Livingstone

RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 1) – Brittany Jamison (Jr./Charleston, SC) recorded a match-high nine kills for Saint Augustine's University in a 3-0 CIAA volleyball loss to Livingstone College at Emery Gymnasium on Monday.

Zoey Isom (Sr./Phoenix, AZ) totaled 19 assists and seven digs for the Lady Falcons, who dropped to 0-3 in the Southern Division, 3-6 in the CIAA and 3-9 overall. Chandra Mackey (So./Nassau, Bahamas) and Mechelle Moss (So./Nassau, Bahamas) had nine digs and eight digs, respectively.

Jekisha Rhymes totaled six kills, 15 digs and four block assists for the Lady Blue Bears, who won 25-20, 25-12, 25-16. Ajia Long and Marlana Jackson each collected six kills while Rebecca Brown and Dekiya Wilson-Thomas totaled 18 assists and 12 assists, respectively. Victoria Onozie tallied 12 digs for the Lady Blue Bears, who improved to 2-1 in the Southern Division, 5-4 in the CIAA and 5-6 overall.

The match started nearly two hours past the scheduled time of 6 p.m. due to mechanical issues on the highway affecting Livingstone.

The Lady Falcons visit crosstown rival Shaw University at Spaulding Gymnasium on Thursday, Oct. 4. The match begins at 6 p.m.
