SAU Volleyball Falls To Shaw

RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 4) – Saint Augustine's University fell to Shaw University 3-0 in a CIAA women's volleyball match at Spaulding Gymnasium on Thursday.

Mechelle Moss (So./Nassau, Bahamas) led the Lady Falcons with six kills. Zoey Isom (Sr./Phoenix, AZ) added 14 assists and eight digs, and Janina Mayers (Fr./Christ Church, Barbados) had four kills and five digs.

Keveesha Whattley registered 13 kills and Tapanga Moten totaled 11 kills for the Lady Bears, who won 25-12, 25-14, 25-11. Kelly Murphy finished with 22 digs.

The Lady Falcons dropped to 0-4 in the Southern Division, 3-7 in the CIAA and 3-10 overall. The Lady Bears are 3-0 in the Southern Division, 9-0 in the CIAA and 12-6 overall.

The next match for the Lady Falcons is Monday, Oct. 8, against Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C. The match starts at 6 p.m.
