RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 30) – Saint Augustine's University pushed Livingstone College to four sets before falling 3-1 in a CIAA volleyball match at New Trent Gymnasium in Salisbury, N.C., on Monday, Oct. 29.
Janina Mayers (Fr./Christ Church, Barbados) and Tia Jones (Fr./Bridgetown, Barbados) each registered seven kills for the Lady Falcons. Mayers added nine digs and Zoey Isom (Sr./Phoenix, AZ) totaled 18 assists, 11 digs, two service aces and one block. Brittany Jamison (Jr./Charleston, SC) added six kills and Chandra Mackey (So./Nassau, Bahamas) tallied three service aces and seven digs.
Jekisha Rhymes of Livingstone led both teams with 14 kills. Victoria Onozie had 11 kills and Rebecca Brown dished out 21 assists for the Lady Blue Bears, who won 25-20, 25-16, 17-25, 25-14. Alexis Williams amassed 22 digs.
The Lady Falcons dropped to 3-12 in the CIAA Southern Division and 3-15 overall. The Lady Blue Bears upped their record to 7-9 in the CIAA Southern Division and 8-13 overall.
The Lady Falcons return home to host Claflin University at Emery Gymnasium on Thursday, Nov. 1. The match starts at 6 p.m.
