SAU Volleyball Falls To Johnson C. Smith

RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 9) – Saint Augustine's University fell to Johnson C. Smith University 3-0 in a CIAA women's volleyball match at Brayboy Gymnasium in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday, Oct. 8.

Mechelle Moss (So./Nassau, Bahamas) led the Lady Falcons with four kills and eight assists. She also contributed eight digs.

Zoey Isom (Sr./Phoenix, AZ) recorded 14 digs and Janina Mayers (Fr./Christ Church, Barbados) added seven digs. Tia Jones (Fr./Bridgetown, Barbados) totaled two blocks for the Lady Falcons, who dropped to 0-5 in the Southern Division, 3-8 in the CIAA and 3-11 overall.

Taylor Smith had eight kills and three aces for the Golden Bulls, who won 25-13, 25-15, 25-12. The Golden Bulls upped their record to 5-1 in the Southern Division, 10-2 in the CIAA and 13-6 overall.

The Lady Falcons face Winston-Salem State University twice in three days starting Saturday, Oct. 13, in Winston-Salem, N.C. The match begins at 10:30 a.m.
