SAU Volleyball Posts 2-1 Mark At CIAA Round-Up II

RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 24) – Saint Augustine's University won two of three volleyball matches in the CIAA Round-Up II over the weekend. The Round-Up was held at Big Ben's Home Court in Richmond, Va.
 
The Lady Falcons defeated Bowie State University 3-1 and Lincoln (Pa.) University 3-0 on Saturday, Sept. 22. They lost to Virginia Union University 3-0 on Sunday, Sept. 23.
 
Mechelle Moss (So./Nassau, Bahamas) and Brittany Jamison (Jr./Charleston, SC) each totaled eight kills for the Lady Falcons in the 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 25-22 victory over Bowie State. Jamison contributed four blocks and Moss added four aces, five assists and nine digs.
 
Janina Mayers (Fr./Christ Church, Barbados) had four kills, two aces, 20 digs and one block and Zoey Isom (Sr./Phoenix, AZ) registered 20 assists and four aces. Tia Jones (Fr./Bridgetown, Barbados) added 11 digs.
 
Mayers led the Lady Falcons in a 25-18, 25-12, 25-12 win over Lincoln. She had team highs of seven kills, 14 digs and two aces.
 
Isom finished with 18 assists and 11 digs and Moss collected four kills, eight digs and one block. Jones had four kills and two aces.
 
On Sunday, Mayers had seven kills and 11 digs in an 18-25, 16-25, 25-27 loss to Virginia Union. Moss tallied six kills and 12 digs and Isom had 22 assists and 12 digs. Jamison finished with five kills.
 
The Lady Falcons (0-1 Southern Division, 3-4 CIAA, 3-7 overall) return to CIAA Southern Division play on Thursday, Sept. 27. They visit Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, N.C., at 6 p.m.
