SAU Volleyball Falls To Fayetteville State

RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 27) – Saint Augustine's University fell 3-0 to Fayetteville State University in a CIAA women's volleyball match at Capel Arena in Fayetteville, N.C., on Thursday.

Tia Jones (Fr./Bridgetown, Barbados) finished with five kills and two blocks for the Lady Falcons. Zoey Isom (Sr./Phoenix, AZ) added nine assists and four service aces, and Janina Mayers (Fr./Christ Church, Barbados) had four kills and five digs. Brittany Jamison (Jr./Charleston, SC) totaled two blocks.

Bojo Jada led the Broncos with 13 kills and Teeya McLean tallied 10 kills and six blocks. Meagan Greene had nine digs and three service aces, and Ziyanna Canty dished out 11 assists for the Broncos, who won 25-19, 25-17, 25-6.

The Lady Falcons dropped to 0-2 in the Southern Division and 3-8 overall. The Broncos are now 1-0 in the Southern Division and 2-7 overall.

The next match for the Lady Falcons is Monday, Oct. 1, at home against Livingstone College in a Southern Division battle. The starting time is 6 p.m. at Emery Gymnasium.
