SAU Bowling Team Heads To CIAA Round-Up This Weekend (Feb. 8-10)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 5) – Saint Augustine's University travels to Nags Head, N.C., this weekend to compete in the CIAA Bowling Round-Up, which is Friday, Feb. 8, through Sunday, Feb. 10, at the OBX Bowling Center.

Team matches begin at 12:15 p.m. on Friday and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Baker matches start at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday.

The Lady Falcons are second in the Southern Division standings entering the tournament. The top four teams from the Northern Division and the top four teams from the Southern Division at the end of the regular season advance to the CIAA Championship Tournament, which is March 23-24 in Virginia Beach, Va.

The Lady Falcon bowlers are Makayla August (So./Palm Springs, CA), Gia Minnis (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas), Myhikkah Morris (So./Nassau, Bahamas), Tanae Newry (So./Nassau, Bahamas), La'Tricha Parks (Sr./Henderson, NC), Haley Sessoms (Fr./Kenansville, NC) and Daisa Waiters (So./Florence, SC). The head coach is Dorothy Neal.

The Southern Division teams competing in this weekend's tournament are Fayetteville State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Livingstone College and Shaw University in addition to Saint Augustine's University. The Northern Division teams competing are Bowie State University, Chowan University, host Elizabeth City State University, Virginia State University and Virginia Union University. The Southern teams face the Northern teams in the Round-Up.
