SAU Women's Basketball Falls To Virginia Union

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 7) – Saint Augustine's University fell to nationally-ranked Virginia Union University 90-47 in a non-conference women's basketball game between CIAA schools at Emery Gymnasium on Monday.

Kaaliya Williams (Sr./Richmond, VA) scored 13 points for the Lady Falcons. She added six rebounds and two steals.

Jordyn Burton (So./Durham, NC) scored seven points and Kamya Renwicks (Sr./Baltimore, MD) tallied six points for the Lady Falcons, who never recovered after falling behind 17-7 at the end of the first period.

Jasmine Carter led four double-figure scorers with 18 points for the two-time defending CIAA champion Lady Panthers (10-1 overall), ranked seventh nationally in the WBCA Coaches Poll. Peyton Evans scored 17 points and Ndeye Rose Fall chipped in 11 points.

The Lady Falcons (5-7 overall) are home again Saturday, Jan. 11, to take on Lincoln (Pa.) University at Emery Gymnasium. Game time is 2 p.m.
