SAU Women's Basketball Falls To ECSU On The Road

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 20) – Milequa Eason (Jr./Woodland, NC) led Saint Augustine's University with team highs of 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals in an 80-64 women's basketball loss to Elizabeth City State University at the Vaughan Center in Elizabeth City, N.C., on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The game was designated as a non-conference contest between the two CIAA teams.

Kiana Clark (Sr./Queens, NY) added 13 points, four assists and three steals, and Kamya Renwicks (Sr./Baltimore, MD) totaled 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Jordyn Burton (So./Durham, NC) chipped in seven points and Shankia Clark (Sr./Orlando, FL) collected seven rebounds for the Lady Falcons, who never recovered after falling behind 14-0.


Led by Eason's five offensive rebounds, the Lady Falcons outrebounded the Vikings 19-14 on the offensive glass for a 10-5 edge in second-chance points. The Lady Falcons also outscored the Vikings 10-2 in fast break points.


Devona Stell recorded 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead four ECSU double-figure scorers. Asia Deal and Markeia Porter each added 11 points and Azhante Rodgers scored 10 points
for the Vikings (10-17 overall).

The Lady Falcons (10-17 overall) visit Southern Division leader Fayetteville State University in the final game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. This is the fourth consecutive away game for SAU.
