SAU Women's Basketball Falls In Season Opener

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 12) - Saint Augustine's University (SAU) fell to Nova Southeastern 78-48 in the Lady Falcons' basketball season opener in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. 

Vernisha Robin (Jr./Miami, FL) scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Lady Falcons. She made 5 of 9 shots from the floor. 

Lauren Banks (Fr./Clinton, MD) added seven points and Taniyah Greene (Fr./Cheltenham, MD) finished with six points and eight rebounds. Raquel Cassidy (Jr./Gainesville, FL) had three blocks and Ariyanna Brown (Jr./Charlotte, NC) and Jada Swafford (Sr./Alexandria, LA) contributed two steals each. 

McKenah Peters scored 20 points for Nova Southeastern (3-1 overall).  

SAU is back on the court Sunday, Nov. 14, against Barry in Miami Shores, Fla., at 1 p.m.
